FCE(T) Appoints First Female Bursar

The Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku, Rivers State has appointed a new Bursar, she is Lady Emilia Godswill Inimgba who was before her new position a deputy bursar in the College.

According to a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the College, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP, Mrs. Inimgba, the 6th and 1st female bursar of the college took over from the immediate past Bursar, Mr. Christian Goin who successfully completed his two-term tenure of Ten (10) years on March 31, 2020.

The new Bursar’s appointment which is with effect from 1stof April 2020 for a period of Five (5) years in the first instance was confirmed by the College govening council led by an erudite scholar, professor Aminu Mikailu at its 85th meeting held on March 13, 2020.

Born on 23rd February, 1964, Mrs Inimgba an indigene of Amadi-Amain Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State obtained her B.sc Business Education (Accounting option and Masters in Business Education Administration (MBA) Accountancy from the then Rivers State University of Science and Technology Port Harcourt from 1983-1987 and 2002-2004 respectively and also attended the famous Nigerian College of Accountancy, Jos from 2009-2010 where she obtained her Association of National Accountants of Nigerian (ANAN) certificate.

The new Bursar who joined the services of the college in 2001 as a senior Accountant has served the institution in several capacities such as Head of procurement unit, head payroll unit, head treasury unit among other Adhoc and standing committees belongs to many professional bodies and associates including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Senior Staff Union of Colleges of Education in Nigeria (SSUCOEN) among others.

Mrs. Inimgba, a member of Anglican church is married with children.

Meanwhile, the Provost of the college Sir, Dr Emmanuel Ikenyiri has on behalf of himself, management, staff and students of the college congratulatesMrs Emilia Godswill Inimgba on her appointment and wish her a fruitful tenure in office but told her to note that to “whom much is given much, much is also expected”.

The Provost also thanked members of the College Governing Council led by Professor M.S Mikailu for the appointment describing it as an appointment well done.

In her acceptance speech, the highly elated Mrs. Inimgba thanked God and members of the College Governing Councilfor her appointment and promised to live up to expectations but solicit for support and co-operation from members of the college community.
