Rivers Community Policing Advisory Committee Holds Inaugural Meeting
The Rivers State Community Policing Advisory Committee (SCPAC) on Thursday held its inaugural meeting at the Secretariat of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The meeting which was presided over by the Chairman of the Committee, His Royal Majesty, King (Dr.) Dandison Douglas Jaja (JP), the Amanyanabo of Opobo Kingdom and the Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers had all members of the committee in attendance.
Welcoming the members, the Chairman thanked them for honouring the Inaugural Meeting, noting that their assignment is a national call to duty which requires strong commitment from them.
While also welcoming the members, the Co-Chairman and the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph G. Mukanpsc thanked them for coming and appealed to them to help in realizing the objective of the Community Policing Initiative set up by Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, NPM, mni.
Also in attendance were the Service Commanders, including Representatives from the three Senatorial Districts in the State.
Highlights of the Meeting were presentation of Letters of Appointment and Constitution of the Members of the Executive Council namely HRM, King (Dr.) Dandison Douglas Jaja JP (Chairman); CP Joseph G. Mukanpsc (Co-Chairman); Chief Casca Ogosu JP (Secretary) and Commander Rachael Shelleng (Financial Secretary).
Others are Hon. Chief Ukpeni Richard Ewoh (Treasurer) and DSP Nnamdi Omoni (PRO/Coordinator).
