Rivers State Hotlines For Immediate Response To Victims Of Sexual Abuse And Other Forms Of Violence

The Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation in response to the increased and alarming statistics of Sexual and gender based violence has set up hotlines and collaborations to fast track immediate response to victims of Sexual abuse and other forms of violence.

The Ministry in a statement by Hon Commissioner, Mrs Inime Aguma said it is working in collaboration with other organizations to provide Counseling, Medical help, Psychological help, Legal Aid and prosecution of offenders.

The Commissioner urges the public to report gender based violence, sexual abuse, domestic violence and other forms of violence.

“Lets end the culture of silence and ensure our fundamental right to dignity”, she said.
