The Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, His Eminence, Sir (Dr) Chukumela Nnam Obi II (OON, DSSRS, AP, JP) is in mourning as he lost two members of his family within two days.

The revered monarch lost his immediate younger sister, Princess (Mrs) Agnes Godpower Ojobah, (nee Obuoha Obi) on 21 June, 2020 aged 74 and also lost his daughter, Princess (Mrs) Ureh Eme Ogidi, (nee Obi) on 22 June, 2020 aged 54 years.

Confirming the incident on his Twitter handle, media aide to the monarch, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh JP, said it was shocking and painful for the king to lose two prominent Princesses within 48 hours even though they were on sick bed over the past months.

He described the late Princesses as cheerful, humble, unassuming and God-fearing saying their deaths are painful to Ogba people especially those who associated with them.

The aide said it was a hectic week for the king as he was busy receiving visitors from far and near who paid him condolence visit.

Among those who called on the monarch for condolence visit were serving and former government officials, traditional rulers and chiefs, elder statesmen, institutions, clubs, associates and people from all walks of life.

Late Mrs Agnes Ojobah was wife to Elder Godpower S. Ojobah while late Mrs Ureh Ogidi was the wife to retired Naval officer who is currently a traditional ruler, Eze Eluoha (Obakata), Omoku of Ogbaland and former Chairman of Omoku City Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, HRH Eze Gift Emelike Ogidi.
