Suspected Robbers In Facemask Shoot Trader Over Cell Phone
There was pandemonium last week Friday at Anozie street ,Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt as gunmen suspected to be armed robbers shot a business man simply identified as Ejiofor at the popular car tyre market.
An eyewitness told our reporter that the suspected armed robbers who wore facemasks stormed the front of a compound where the said Ejiofor and other businessmen were sitting.
We gathered that the armed men ordered everybody at the place to surrender their belongings which included money, mobile phones and jewelry.
Our source alleged that the said Ejiofor was reluctant to relinquish his necklace, mobile phone and money .The source disclosed that the gunmen shot the victim at the leg for wasting their time and still collected his necklace,money and mobile phone.
However, timely intervention of Police Officers from Azikiwe Divisional Police Headquarters and Mile 1 Diobu who arrived the scene, rushed the victim to an undisclosed hospital where the victim is currently receiving treatment.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Omoni Nnamdi was yet to respond to enquiries on the incident by our reporter as he did not respond to text messages sent by our reporter nor did he pick his calls.
