Cult Groups Draw Battle Line In Amadi-Ama

One person is said to have been killed when two rival cult groups clashed at Amadi-Ama area of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area on Monday morning.
It was learned that the clash occurred at about 6:15am.
A source in the area disclosed that members of the Greenlander and Icelander cult groups fighting for supremacy and territorial control engaged themselves in a shootout at the end of which one person reportedly lost his life.
Our source revealed that the suspected cultists had disengaged before arrival of the Police.
The Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, SP, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident , adding that normalcy has been restored in the area.
Omoni stated that the fracas was between two cult groups, but that no life was lost in the incident.
He said the command is aware of the unfortunate usual senseless act of war of supremacy between the Icelander and Greenlander cult groups at Amadi-Ama.
He revealed that the Police were alerted and immediately mobilized to the scene, but on arrival the hoodlums fled.
The Police image maker however explained that a Keke (tricycle) driver was shot on the leg in the incident and is receiving treatment, adding that no life was lost in the incident.
SP Omoni urged residents of Amadi-Ama to remain calm and go about their legitimate
businesses while calling on the people to provide information that will assist the Police in combating crime.
