Report reaching National Network news desk indicates that a Pastor of a new generation church located at Igwuruta in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State who was arrested last Sunday by officers attached to Igwuruta Divisional Police headquarters for allegedly taking a married woman to a guest house for deliverance has been granted bail.

The pastor in a telephone interview on Monday morning told our reporter that the matter was tackled at the Police station last Sunday. The Pastor also denied taking the married woman to a guest house for deliverance and allegedly raping her.

We gathered that the Pastor allegedly told the married woman to book a room in a guest house at Igwuruta where the deliverance and spiritual cleansing would take place. Our source disclosed that trouble started when the woman woke up after the deliverance and accused the Pastor of hypnotizing and raping her. We learned that the woman told her husband what transpired between her and the pastor and the husband called the pastor who allegedly threatened to kill the husband and wife if they continued with their claims.

The husband and wife last Saturday in a telephone interview with our reporter accused the pastor of deceiving the woman and taking her to a guest house where he sexually assaulted her in the guise of spiritual cleansing and deliverance.

The spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni, a Superintendent of Police (SP)  was yet to respond to text messages sent to his mobile line by our reporter.

As at press time, a source hinted that the suspect has been re-arrested and detained at the human right desk of the police while investigation into the matter is on.
