RIVPA Mourns Late Member, Loveday Ihua

The Rivers State Independent Publishers Association (RIVPA) is shocked at the news of the sudden death of one of our pioneer members, and publisher of Sunrise newspaper, Hon Loveday Ihua.

Though late Hon Ihua made a detour to serve his community, Ubimini, at the Legislative Assembly of Emohua Local Government Area of the state and later, as Press Secretary to Emohua Local Government Council, he had remained committed to the cause of our association and efficient information management of issues concerning Rivers State.

He was a well-bred professional journalist and committed member of the Rivers State Independent Publishers Association, RIVPA.

Late Hon Ihua also worked with various media organizations including but not limited to Independent Monitor and Niger Delta Today newspapers before taking up the publication of the Sunrise newspaper.

The leadership and members of RIVPA have indeed, lost  a great asset and will find it difficult to fill the vacuum the death of Hon. Ihua has created.

We however, take solace in the fact that death is not the end of life for we Christians, but rather marks the beginning of one’s transformation for a greater life eternal with one’s Creator.

We therefore take authority on our belief, faith and absolute trust in God to enjoin all his loved ones, our members, friends, relations, family and particularly, his wife and children not to mourn like the ‘hopeless’ will do and anchor their hope in God for the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

We sincerely promise not to abandon the family of our fallen colleague not even at his death and will keep in touch with the family as preparations are made for his burial.

Late Hon Loveday Ihua was indeed, a hero who used his pen to speak for the voiceless and impacted the society in various ways.

May his soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.
