The popular dictum that many days are for the thief and one day for the owner was reaffirmed Saturday, September 12, 2020 when the most wanted Rivers murderer, Bobisky was trapped by men and officers of the Rivers State Police Command.
Honest Digbara, popularly known as Bobisky was said to be the most notorious and dangerous robber, kidnapper and murderer in the State.
Bobisky who is said to have come from Nwenbiara, Gokana Local Government Area, Rivers State was nabbed at Korokoro in Tai Local Government, the place where he was hiding with his gang members.
The arrest of the most dangerous man was confirmed on Saturday by the Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan, at the state police headquarters in Port Harcourt.
The police boss said the arrest of the most wanted criminal followed credible information by members of the public.
To Mukan, Bobisky and his gang members were responsible for the kidnapping and killing of one Barrister Emelogu after collecting ransom.
He also blamed the group for the killing of a Divisional Crime Officer in Afam Division in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the State, Moses Egbede, the killing of a civil defence at Gio pipeline in Gokana Local Government Area of the state, the kidnap and killing of Chief Mbu of Ogu/Bolo after collecting N7million as ransom among others.
“This suspect is responsible for most of the criminal activities in the state. He was responsible for the kidnap of Barrister Emelogu who was killed after collecting ransom, he is also responsible for the killing of a Divisional Crime Officer in Afam Division, SP Moses Egbede, as well as the killing of a soldier and personnel of Civil Defence at Gio pipeline in Ogoni last year, killing of two Policemen at a Federal Highway at Botem among others,” he said.
Although the suspect was arrested alive, eye witness account has it that several gunshots could not penetrate his body.
Also, several attempts made by Bobisky to disappear was resisted by the police. The suspect, however, died from matchete cuts.
Sequel to his arrest, Governor Nyesom Wike had earlier placed a N30 million bounty on Bobisky’s head, saying he will reward any member of the public who can provide useful information that will lead to the arrest of the most wanted criminal.
The notorious Kidnapper, murderer and cultist was the leader of Greenlanders in Ogoni land.
Honest Digbara (aka) Bobisky was arrested alive on Saturday, September 12, 2020, by 2:30am at Korokoro Tai community in Tai local government area during a burial wake keep.
His pilot in an attempt to escape with Bobisky’s car was also gunned down, who we gathered was his sibling.
He was arrested in a joint operation of local vigilante known as Tai security outfit and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Bori division, Khana local government area of the Nigeria Police, SP of Khana Division, SP Bako and his gallant men.
