Cult Groups In Supremacy Battle At Diobu Waterfront

..As Security Operatives Arrest One Suspect, Recover AK47 Rifle

Two factions of suspected Deygbam cult groups last Sunday engaged themselves in a supremacy battle at some water fronts in Diobu area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, eyewitness identified the waterfronts as those situated in Obidianso, Nwachukwu, Anozie, Echue, Ukwatu, Timber, Okwelle streets.

The two faction of Deygbam cult groups reportedly Lamedian and Foundation was said to  engaged themselves in a shootout .

We gathered that some residents sustained injury as they scampered for safety while other residents are now counting their loss as the suspected cultists resorted to breaking windscreen of cars parked at the streets.

Our source revealed that a local vigilante in the area with other security agents acting on credible intelligence swung into action & apprehended one suspect nicknamed School Boy at Okwelle waterfront on Monday night and reportedly recovered one AK-47 riffle with two magazine.

The source disclosed that the AK 47 riffle has been handed over to the Eagle (Commissioner) Crack Squad of Rivers State Police command located at Mile 1 Diobu.

The spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni was yet to respond to text messages sent to his mobile line on enquiry into the incident.

Meanwhile a member of Diobu Vigilante group who did not want his name in print confirmed the incident.

As at press time, We gathered efforts are on to arrest fleeing members of the gang.
