RIVPA Pays Last Respect To Departed Colleague
The chairman of the Rivers State Independent Publishers Association (RIVPA) Pastor Jerry Needam, over the weekend led members of the association to Umuekidnma, Ubimini in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State for the funeral service of their departed colleague, LATE HON. LOVEDAY OGBOWU IHUA who was until his death the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of the Port Harcourt Sunrise Newspaper and Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of Emohua local government area.
Speaking at the service, Pastor Eyitayo Adeyemi of the Living Faith Church (aka winners Chapel) who took his text from 2 Thess. 4:13 empathized with the bereaved family and urged them not to mourn as those who do not have any hope He described the day as a day of celebration and not of mourning as the departed has reunited with his maker.
According to him those who die in Christ are not like those who do not have hope stressing that someday all must appear before the judgement seat of the Lord to give account of how we spent our lives.
He pointed out that indeed heaven is real and hell is real therefore enjoined all present to surrender their lives to God.
The Chairman of RIVPA, Pastor Jerry NEEDAM led members of the association to make a presentation to the wife of the deceased.
Other dignitaries that graced the funeral include the chairman of Emohua local government Area Hon. Tom Alezi, his vice, former chief whip of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Chidi Lloyd, Leader of Emolga Legislative Council, opinion leaders, women leaders and youths.
