Suspected Job Scammer Lands In Police Custody
A suspected job scammer simply identified Sophia has being detained by Police Officers from Ozuoba Police Division,Obi/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State for allegedly scamming one Sylvester 150,000 naira.
We learned that the female suspect who was working in the same establishment with the victim had informed Sylvester that she will help him to secure a well paid Job in a food company at Choba community .
We gathered that the suspect reportedly asked the victim to give her 150,000 naira to enable her facilitate the process of securing the Job.Our source disclosed that the unsuspecting Sylvester made initially payment of 80,000 naira and paid 70,00 naira again when the lady told him his name was out.
The source revealed that Sylvester realized it is a scam when the suspect started giving him excuses the time they agreed for him to commence work in the food company.
The suspect was arrested by officers from Ozuoba Police Division last Saturday where she is undergoing interrogation as at press time.
When contacted by our reporter Sylvester confirmed the incident but declined further comment.
A Police source also confirmed the arrest of the suspect to our reporter.
Checks by National Network indicate that fraudsters are taking advantage of unemployment rate in the country to defraud job seekers of huge sum of money.
