The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Triennial Delegates Conference earlier scheduled to hold from November 9-11, 2020 has been shifted to November 13-15, 2020.
According to the press statement signed by the Conference Committee Chairman and Secretary, Ezeogo Boniface Okoro and Bulak Afsa respectively, the shift in date was occasioned by numerous complaints by most State Chapters that the earlier dates fell on the beginning of the week which, they bitterly complained, was most inconvenient.
“With the new arrangement, Delegates would now arrive on Friday, November 13, 2020; Opening ceremony/Business session and Election will hold on Saturday, November 14, while Delegates will depart on Sunday, November 15, 2020″, the statement read in parts.
The statement further disclosed that the Committee regretted any inconvenience this shift in date may have caused all concerned and thanked all stakeholders for their usual understanding and cooperation.
The Conference which will take place in Minna, Niger State will have in attendance female journalists from the 36 states of the federation including Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The participants are also expected to comply with all COVID 19 precautionary measures during the conference.
