NECO Releases 2020/2021 Entrance Results
The Federal Ministry of Education has released result of the National Common Entrance Examination for 2020/2021 Academic session.
Presenting the result at a media briefing in Abuja on Monday, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, said out of 70, 580 candidates who sat for the examination, only 24, 416, passed, scoring a minimum of 66.
The Minister noted that the carrying capacity of the 110 Federal Government Unity Colleges has risen to 26, 625 , after 720 slots were added at the establishment of six new Federal Science and Technical Colleges in the six geo-political zones of the country.
Adamu added that 10% of admission criteria have been allotted to biological children of teachers in fulfillment of the pronouncement made by President Muhammadu Buhari during the 2020 World Teachers’ Day, as incentives for teachers.
Other admission criteria include, 60 per cent strictly merit and 30 per cent based on states representation in the Unity Colleges.
The National Common Entrance Examination into Federal Unity Colleges is conducted by the National Examinations council, NECO.
