NUJ Commends Gov Okowa For Publisher’s Appointment

The Delta State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa for appointing a renowned Community Newspaper Publisher, Prince Joseph Orhomonokpaye as Special Assistant (SA) on Community Newspapers (Office of the Deputy Governor).

In a press statement jointly signed by Chairman, Comrade Michael Ikeogwu, and Secretary, Comrade Patrick Ochei, the Council commended the governor, saying they are pleased because the ‘miracle appointment’ was birthed during the Quarterly Media Interaction with the Governor.

“The appointment is a pointer to the fact that Senator Okowa recognises those who are working, especially as it pertains to the promotion, propagation and dissemination of Government policies and programmes to the grassroots populace.

“We celebrate with Prince Orhomonokpaye, publisher of the Delta Guide Newspapers on this well-deserved appointment”, the Council said.

While wishing the newest appointee of the Governor a warm congratulation, the Council assured that NUJ in Delta State will continue to create platforms for cordial relationships and synergies that will ensure all media practitioners are carried along towards benefitting from the Constitutional coverage of the Union in terms of welfare and protection of rights of media workers.
