Snr. Mother Mabel Celebrates 82nd Birthday Anniversary In Grand Style
It was celebration galore over the weekend in Port Harcourt when an octogenarian Christian mother, Mabel Amaka Eze-Josiah Nwoye turned 82 years.
The celebration started with a thanksgiving service at the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim & Seraphim Church, No. 9 Akokwa Street, Mile Two, Diobu, Port Harcourt before the reception at her residence where guests were lavishly entertained.
Speaking with newsmen at the event, the first daughter of the family of five (5), Mrs Beatrice Raymond Ezeobinwa said attending to aged parents comes with their challenges which must be borne with patience and endurance.
“We are happy having her around uptil now, although there are many challenges associated with it. She is never a burden to us as it is our responsibility,” she said.
Mrs Ezeobinwa disclosed that since they lost their father, late Evangelist Josiah Eze-Josiah Nwoye 24years ago, their mother has been there for them, ensuring that they, the children don’t missed their father very much.
“We however, would continue to miss our Dad. It was not easy for us to move on without him because he was everything to us.
He stood for the truth and honesty and was a very outspoken person, but our mother, though was on the quiet side, is known for excluding herself where there is evil machination or gossip,” she said.
Mrs Ezeobinwa however said she loves her both parents equally and would do everything to reciprocate their love and care for them all.
She further disclosed that one of the legacies she learnt from her parents was the fact of not allowing a third party into their union’s disagreement, no matter how hard there were, until it would be dissolved through one way or the other.
“Husband and wife should be able to settle their differences by themselves,” she declared.
Mrs Beatrice Ezeobinwa used the opportunity to advise anyone out there who has aged parents to take good care of them as much as they can for them to live longer for them.
“We have to tolerate and give them love and care like babies because it is our responsibility.” She however observed that the responsibility is better to be undertaken by the female children than the male ones because of their special characteristic.
She informed that next year January 2021 when Mama would actually clock 83 years, her siblings are planning a bounty celebration for their mother.
The Nkpologwu and Uga born family in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State said it is a thing of joy for one to live long enough to reciprocate the love, care and upbringing parents gave to their offsprings.
Highlights of the event was the cutting of the gigantic birthday cake by the grandmother who eventually prayed for all the guests present for long life and prosperity. Thereafter everybody toast with her, taping from longevity blessings.
