Enyindah, Ajinwo, Itubo, Others Bag Chieftaincy Titles

More than ten prominent members of Okporowo-Ogbakiri Wezina Community in Emohua Local Government Area were on Saturday decorated with chieftaincy titles in appreciation of their achievements and contributions to the development of the community.

In a colourful ceremony which held at the Community Secondary School field, Okporowo Ogbakiri with top dignitaries in attendance, the Paramount Ruler of the Community, HRH, Eze Miler WodiEchonwere said the event would remain indelible in the annals of Okporowo Ogbakiri, adding that all recipients have proven to be good ambassadors of the community.

Notable among the pack was the Registrar of Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, Chief Prince Sydney Enyindah who received the title of Eze Udo 1 of Okporowo Ogbakiri.  Also decorated was the immediate past Rivers State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Chief (Sir) Barr. Franklyn Ajinwo who was given the title of Eze OchiruOkpaa 1 of Okporowo Ogbakiri.

A renowned labour activist and current Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state, Chief (Comrade) Beatrice Itubo Igwe was also crowned a chief even as Chief (Surveyor) Noel Chikenwo Elenwo, Surveyor-General of Rivers State was conferred with the traditional title of Eze Mbolo 1 of Okporowo Ogbakiri.

Others who also bagged chieftaincy titles were High Chief Gift Okonu; Chief Hon. E.J. Worukwo, Chief Leopold Alikor, Retired Chief (Magistrate) Elenwo and Chief (Barr) I.K. Onyekwere amongst others.

Speaking to journalists at the occasion where the rich traditional culture of Ogbakiri Kingdom was show-cased, Chief (Dr.) Sydney Enyindah expressed profound appreciation to the chiefs and people of Okporowo-Ogbakiri for the honour of being recognized, assuring he would uphold the trust bestowed on him.

While dedicating the chieftaincy title to his family and God Almighty, he urged the people of Okporowo Ogbakiri to be patriotic and put the interest of the community at heart.

Dignitaries at the event include former Governor of Rivers State, Sir Celestine Omehia, Government House Chief of Staff, Chief Emeka Woke; Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, High Chief Tom Aliezi; Dean, Faculty of Social Science, Rivers State University, Prof. G.B. Okon; Prof. Zeb Bipi and Prof. Gladson Nwoka among others.
