There was mild drama at Calabar quarters, off Iwofe road, Port Harcourt last Sunday as residents apprehended a 29 year old man simply identified as Chigazie whom they accused of attempting to defile two teenage girls, aged 12 and 14.
Narrating the story to our reporter, the father of the 12 year old girl, Mr Kpobari disclosed that his daughter had informed him of a man who has been making advances to her by showing her his manhood in a secluded area anytime he sees her.
Mr Kpobari explained that last Sunday, his attention was drawn by a male neighbour who noticed when the man was calling his daughter and curious to know the shanty man had up his sleeve his led to the arrest by the residents.
The 14yr old girl, told our reporter that the man on different occasions showed her his manhood and told her to come and lay with him, that he will give her money.
She revealed that she told her parents who had been looking for the man until they saw him on Sunday afternoon.
The 12 year old girl also collaborated the statement of the 14 year old girl in an interview with our reporter. The suspect, Chigazie in an interview with our reporter admitted calling the girls but denied showing them his manhood. Our correspondent reports that Chigazie who would have been mobbed by residents was rescued by the parents of the girls and taken to Ada George Police station also known as open door Police station. As at press time the matter was being investigated.
