OSPAC Office Deserted After Raid By Police
The office of OSPAC, a local vigilance group in Nkpor, Rumuolumeni appears to be deserted after the raid and arrest of three OSPAC personnel by the Police last Thursday.
Checks by our correspondent indicate that the personnel of the security outfit have not been seen in the office after the raid
The raid we learnt may not be unconnected to the alleged assault which caused harm on one Clifford Woko by OSPAC members at Rumuolomeni over failure of Woko to pay ‘matching ground fee’ on the land that is in his care which is under construction.
We learned that the Human Rights desk at the Rivers State Police command headquarters invited the OSPAC members on three occasion and they reportedly declined honouring invitation which necessitated the raid by the Police.
The victim Clifford Woko re-iterated his call for justice on the matter after the arrest of the OSPAC members.
It would be recalled that the leader of the OSPAC in Rumulomeni, Kenneth Olumeni had denied the allegation and accused Clifford Woko of being a cultist who goes about disturbing land developer.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the arrest and attributed it to the alleged refusal of the OSPAC members to honour invitation on the alleged assault on Mr Woko.
Our correspondent gathered that machetes were recovered from the arrested OSPAC members.
