The Paramount Ruler/Traditional Head of Worukwo, Rebisi in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State, His Majesty Eze Emeka Anyabelem has cried out over the mutilation of his kingdom by some persons he described as over ambitious.
In a strongly worded letter to both the chairmen of Rumuwokoramati and Rumuokokwu families of Nkpolu Oroworukwo in PHALGA which was signed by Greatman Anyabelem and Livingstone Wechie, chairman and spokesman of Rumu-Ihunwo Orogbu, CDC respectively, they frowned at what they called the wrongful coronation of Prince Elder Okwudiwa Thomas Echeonwu as chief of Oro-Ora and Hon. Azeru Opara of the Rivers State House of Assembly in December, 2020.
According to the Monarch in a chat with newsmen, “the offenders and those who purportedly installed them know that I am the one who has been on the larger throne and even contesting for the Eze Apara Rebisi stool since 2011 for and on behalf of Worukwo people as their paramount ruler.
“It therefore beats my imagination that some persons will just wake up over night and provoke crisis which they cannot manage,” he stated.
He maintained that the said installation is not only a sad chapter on his reign and against the interest of the Worukwo people but very unfortunate development.
His Majesty, Eze Anyabelem categorically maintained that he remains the Paramount Head/Traditional Ruler of Oragbullema-Worukwo (Oro-Ora) and Worukwo as a whole which brings to nullity and of no effect the purported installation of Hon Opara and Okwudiwa.
He made it clear that both persons and their families are subjects of Eze Anyabelem who is also the head and Owhor holder of Rumu-Ihunwo-Orogbu, Oro-Ora and the Paramount Ruler/Traditional Head of Oro-Worukwo which covers them.
The communiqué stated further that the two purported coronations are rejected and totally unacceptable and should be condemned by all well-meaning and rational persons. It added that the action of both parties in question are capable of instigating crisis and native war which appears to be their original intention.
