Suspected Armed Robbers Invade Students Lodge, Inflict Machete Cuts On Victims

Suspected armed robbers invaded a building at 20 Osina street, Mile 3 Diobu, Port Harcourt said to be occupied by Students mostly those of Rivers State University last week and inflicted machete cuts on two of their victims after robbing them.
The caretaker of the compound Mr. Fidelis Nuale confirmed the incident to our reporter but declined further comments.
Some of the victims who pleaded anonymity disclosed that thirteen mobile phones, wrist watch, pan slippers, laptop were carted away by the suspected armed robbers.
We also gathered that the armed robbers numbering about five forced one of their victims to transfer money through the victim’s mobile App in his mobile phone to an account provided by one of the suspected armed robbers.
Meanwhile the matter has been reported at Azikiwe Divisional Police headquarters at Illabouchi Mile 2, Diobu Port Harcourt
Our correspondent who visited the compound reports that two of the injured students are recuperating.
The spokesperson of Rivers state Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, was yet to respond to our inquiry into the incident at the time of filing the report.
