Vigilance Group Member Detained For Stabbing Man In PH
One Michael said to be member of vigilance group in Unity Close, off Chinda Road, in Ada George, Mile 4 Port Harcourt has been detained at Ada George Police Division for allegedly stabbing one Goodluck Akarabara, twenty-eight year-old man and native of Akwa/Ibom last Saturday night.
Mr Akarabara in an interview with our reporter explained that he parked his Keke at Chinda Road Close to unity close at the close of work and two men suspected to be vigilante members at the close, came and started harassing him.
According to Akarabara, he enquired from them what his offence was and they asked him if he is challenging them.
He disclosed that the two men who were initially harassing him called other members of their vigilance group who arrived the scene and bounced on him and stabbed him more than five places on his body.
Mr Akarabara stated that he was rescued by some good Samaritan who rescued him before the arrival of the Police.
He added that his mobile phone went missing after the incident while calling for justice on the matter.
Our correspondent who visited Mr. Akarabara reports that there are injuries believed to be from knife cuts on his body.
We also gathered that the suspected major culprit simply identified as Michael was arrested by men of Ada George Police Division at about 2am Sunday morning and is being detained at the station as at the time of this report.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command SP Nnamdi Omoni was yet to respond to text messages sent by our reporter to his mobile phone.
