Monarch Commends Gov Wike’s Developmental Strides
…Says He Is A Visionary leader
One of the respected royal fathers in Rivers State, HRH Eze, Sir Nwankwo Nwankwo, Eze Ala IX of Umuokobo Clan in Ndoki, Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State has lauded Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike over his developmental strides especially on roads and infrastructural development.
He stated this in a chat with newsmen on Monday during the commissioning of the Okoro-nu-Odo flyover constructed by the Wike administration.
According to him, “we are indeed celebrating a man of vision and foresight who has seen tomorrow; pointing out that in the next 10years the importance and visionary leadership of the governor would be felt as he has changed the ambiance of the state for the better especially with the erection of these flyovers.”
“Wike is a fearless and out-spoken leader whose commitment to improve and protect his peoples welfare is paramount to him,” one is not in doubt where he stands on any issue”, he said.
Eze Nwankwo used the opportunity to thank the governor for his readiness to reconstruct the Afam-Ndoki road in Oyigbo this time around.
“We have seen some indications that shows that he has remembered us this year,” he said.
He promised that his people will ensure full cooperation with the contractors to deliver on their mandate, adding that the development has indeed silenced the governor’s critics.
On the insecurity ravaging the country, the Monarch observed that governor Wike is really trying his best in this regards, blaming the lapses on the lack of full control of security operatives by the governors.
He opined that rather than establishing Community Policing, the authorities should consider state police for effectiveness, efficiency and control by the state chief executives.
On the continuous occupation of soldiers in Oyigbo Local Government Area since after the violent #EndSARS# protest last year in the area, the Monarch said he is not in a position to advise them to leave at this point in time as the authorities are in possession of security information that the layman don’t have. He however said the people should be considered because of the hardship involved.
Eze Nwankwo equally used the opportunity to advise the Wike administration to shift attention to Human Capital Development through the institution of scholarship Awards as well as skill acquisition centres for the youths and women alike.
He frowned at some persons who evade taxes which is used to support the government to provide more facilities to the people and appealed to them and their companies to change their attitude.
On whether the businessmen in the state benefit from the Wike administration, he pointed out that if not for anything, the man hour that could have been lost in the traffic jam is no longer there as one could access the Trans-Amadi Industrial Area, for instance under 30 minutes from Ikwerre or Aba roads by the grace of the numerous flyovers.
The royal father equally used the opportunity to appeal for support from his colleagues to the Wike administration to enable him achieve set goal especially on the challenges of insecurity in the hither lands.
