Royal Father Eulogizes Wike Over Performance

The traditional ruler of Mgbundukwu Community in Mile II, Diobu, HRH Eze Tobin Owabie, Eze Onumini I of Ikwerre land has commended the state Chief Executive, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for what he described as his superlative performance in governance.

Speaking with newsmen over the weekend in Port Harcourt during the flag-off of the Ikokwu/Ikwerre road fly over, he said it is only a visionary leader like Wike that will be embarking on projects and commissioning at this Covid-19 pandemic period.

He stated that a flyover project is not easy, come to think of embarking on eight of such simultaneously,” he said.

According to him, “the leadership qualities of governor Wike is infectious and it is obvious that Wike will be leaving a very big shoe for his successor in 2023,” he said.

The monarch made it known that politics is all about identifying what the people needs and making attempts to find solutions to them.

He used the opportunity to lash on those he described as professional critics like Alhaji Asari Dokubo whom he noted do not see anything good in the governor.

“Asari is a spent force that does not even know what is good for him and his people, adding that it is only a blind person that would not see the achievements of the performing governor of Rivers State which has been  acknowledged globally.

He however expressed reservation at the way some politicians go about their assignment without shame or conscience. For instance Eze Owabie said, he was at a loss why the Mayor of Port Harcourt City, Hon Victor Ihunwo would be avoiding the big forest in front of the Tide office in Diobu as well as at the Bayelsa Motor Park, Port Harcourt.

He used the opportunity to appeal to the youths of the communities to try and maintain the cleanliness of the flyovers when they are ready in order to attract more things from the governor.

Eze Owabie also urged the youths to cooperate with the contractors to deliver on their mandate.

On insecurity in the Diobu axis, Eze Tobin called for collective effort with security operatives to nip it on the bud in the interest of all.  

The monarch equally called on the governor to help them fix internal roads and in particular the spoilt bridge that connects the Eagle Island Community with Diobu, adding that the road is a very important one.

He equally called on the governor to consider the classification and promotion of traditional rulers and also consider the classless chiefs for some sort of stipends to enable them continue to maintain peace and order in their various domains.
