The revelation was made by Mr Ibama in an interview with our reporter.

The suspect disclosed that his wife who just put to bed told him she will be filing for divorce if the case continues.

Meanwhile reports reaching our news desk indicate more young ladies have besieged State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt to accuse Mr Ibama of the same offence.

A Police officer while pleaded anonymity told our reporter that more young ladies have been coming to the SCIID to witness against the suspect after he was paraded.

The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, SP Nnamdi Omoni while parading the suspect last week Thursday alleged that he lures his female victims on social media with mouth watery promises and allegedly drug them after which he will rape and cart away all their belongings.

SP Omoni stated that the suspect was arrested when he was spotted at a popular supermarket at Ada George, Port Harcourt  by one of his recent victims who raised alarm that attracted passers-by who apprehended him and handed over to the Police.

SP Omoni revealed that his modus of operandi is the same with the serial killer but only that he does not kill his victims.

SP Omoni stated that the command has deployed technical intelligence to recover the items the suspect carted from the ladies while investigation is ongoing.

Some of the alleged victims who spoke to our correspondent explained that after days of chatting with him on social media, he books a date with them in a hotel where he allegedly drug their food and after they consume the food they will fall asleep only to wake up to discover that he slept with them and made away with all their valuables, two of the victims claimed that he transferred 135,000 and 185,000 naira respectively from their phones.

The suspect, Mr Ibama denied the allegation in an interview with Journalists.

Mr Ibama explained he chatted one Blessing up in Social media and the lady agreed to have sex with him if he pays 20,000 naira.

He disclosed that after they ate and had sex the lady who has smoked ‘weed’   slept off and he left her without paying her the agreed money. He denied stealing any of her property and also revealed he has never come in contact with the other ladies aside the said Blessing.

In the meantime, Barrister Yvonne Aimiegheme a representative of International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) tasked the Police to ensure a thorough investigation and justice on the matter.

Also the Chairperson of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Rivers State, Susan Serekara-Nwikhana in a statement signed by her and made available to our reporter condemned the incident.

She disclosed that NAWOJ on getting the information about the alleged serial rapist last week Wednesday (March 2, 2021), proceeded to the Ada-George, Rumuokpakani Police Station, met with the DPO, SP Francis Udoh and insisted that the matter be charged to court.

Susan stated that NAWOJ want to ensure that women, especially those in Rivers State don’t suffer ill-treatment or any form of gender biases.

The NAWOJ Chairperson in the statement  cautioned women, especially young girls within the ages 19-35, who are gullible to the antics of serial rapists to be weary of social media relationships and begin to scrutinize the kind of men they  interact with, because so many women have died from this kind of meetings as some are raped, money stolen just like in this case where more than 10 girls were swindled by a serial rapist, who lures his victims, telling them that he works offshore and these young girls falls prey to his antics.

She called on the Rivers State Police Command to ensure that Mr Ibama and his cohorts, who are still out there deceiving more women and taking advantage of them are brought to justice.
