“Why Wike, Amaechi Feud Lingers”
Reason has been adduced for the renewed hostility of former Rivers State governor, Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi and his successor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
According to a stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sir Dr Goodluck Nwobike in a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt over the weekend, “the renewed hostility of the two Ikwerre prominent sons is not far from the 2023 presidential ambition that is reportedly zoned to the South-East/South-South zones of the country.
He said the welfare of the people is supposed to be the reason politicians seek power in order to improve the peoples welfare and not for what he called primordial sentiments.
Nwobike who was the KELGA chairmanship aspirant recently disclosed that the APC federal government has nothing to show for taking over power in 2015 except for parochial reasons of distorting the constitution to institutionalized corruption and lopsided appointment of a section of the country into juicy positions and all security architecture of the nation for yet to be made known reasons.
He made it known that the PDP through Governor Wike had delivered to their mandate and can conveniently come to the people in the next general election to ask for their votes but that it is not the case with the All Progressives Congress (APC) which he noted, are yet to find their feet.
“There is nothing the APC both at the federal and state level can boost of except formenting crisis in order to see loop holes to rig election with the help of the security agents in their favour. He however doubt if the development will play out again in 20203 as according to him the people are wiser”.
He hailed the governor for embarking on massive infrastructural development of the state including the eight flyovers and advised him not to be distracted by those he described as “professional critics but be focused and determined to leave legacies to be remembered with.
He used the opportunity to advise the governor to embark on industrialization of the state with the support of the 23 council chairmen in order to tackle the challenges of unemployment.
Chief Nwobike pledged the support of his supporters to the Wike administration to achieve set goal.
