Police Kill 3 Suspected Cultists In Khana Community

Three suspected cultists said to be members of Deygbam cult groups were killed in an exchange of gunfire with the Police at Boue community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Community sources informed our reporter that operatives of Bori Divisional Police headquarters who has being on the trail of the gang terrorizing the community and its environs stormed their hideout in the wee hours of Monday.

Our source disclosed on sighting the Police the hoodlums opened fire and the Police returned fire and in the process three of the suspected cultists were fatally injured.

We gathered that other members of the criminal gang who could not withstand the superior fire of the Police took to their heels while their minicamp was destroyed by the security agency.

Meanwhile some natives who spoke to our correspondent expressed joy on the achievement made by the Police and urged them not to relent in eradicating criminal elements in Boue and Khana LGA at large.

The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command, SP Nnamdi Omoni in a text message to our reporter confirmed the incident but did not give further details.

Our reporter learned that the gang reportedly used the community as operational base and keeping of kidnap victims.
