NSCDC, Rivers Command Destroys Illegal Dumps, Parades 37 Suspect Oil Thieves
The Rivers State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) says it destroyed two suspected illegal oil dump.
The State Commandant of NSCDC Muktar Lawal while parading thirty -seven oil thieves last week Friday said 11 trucks, eighteen drums containing adulterated petroleum products, one bus, five cars, one pumping machine, thirty seven pieces of suspected vandalized railway clips, four suspected railway slippers, a cylinder and a torchlight suspected to be used for acts of vandalism were recovered.
The State Commandant gave breakdown of some of the arrest as follows:
On 15th March 2021, at about 0130hours the anti-vandal patrol team of the command arrested one suspect and one small truck with registration number KRD146XC, around okilton junction by Ada George in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state conveying eighteen drums of suspected adulterated AGO.
On sixteen March 2021, at about 0420hours, the Anti-vandal patrol team arrested six suspects and a truck with registration number T. 0120 YB at PA junction, by station road in Port Harcourt Local Government Area conveying
unquantifiable litters of suspected adulterated AGO
On 17th March 2021 at about 1015hours the anti-vandal patrol team of the command arrested three suspects and a truck with registration number SKP 366 XA along Eliozu in Obio/Akpor LGA conveying unquantifiable litters of suspected adulterated AGO.
On 18th March 2021, at about 0430 hours, the anti-vandal patrol team of the command arrested one suspect and a truck with registration number FKY 289 ZA at Eliozu by East/West road in Obio/Akpor Local Government area of suspected adulterated AGO.
On 18th March 2021 at about 0520hours, anti-vandal team apprehended one Toyota Camry with registration N0 SKP 157 AA at Aba road by Kaduna junction in PortHarcourt conveying unquantifiable litters of suspected AGO, no suspect was arrested as they all to their heels on sighting the NSCDC patrol team.
On 18th March 2021 at about 1815hours during routine patrol along Onne road, opposite well done supermarket, GRA phase 1,in Port Harcourt Local Government Area. One suspect and one Toyota Avalon with registration N0. MM 474 AAA, conveying unquantifiable litres of suspected adulterated AGO was arrested.
On 18th March 2021 at about 1300hours, anti -vandal team of the command discovered and destroyed illegal dump at Okirika LGA of Rivers state where illegally refined petroleum products were stored in large quantity. No suspect was arrested as the illegal dump was deserted before the arrival of the NSCDC operatives.
On 20th March 2021 at about 1245 hours, two suspects known for vandalizing SHELL lines, a truck with registration number N0. UNC 382 XA and one Toyota Camry car with Registration number N0. RUM 376 AH was arrested at Ahia SHELL location in Alimini, Elele in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State.
