2 Shot Dead In Suspected Cult Killings In Diobu
Reports say a man whose identity is yet to be known was shot dead by gunmen suspected to be cultists on Tuesday morning at about 6:30am in railway axis of Sangana street, Mile 1 Diobu, Port Harcourt .
Eyewitness told our reporter that the gunmen accosted the man and shot him on the head at close range.
We gathered that the shooting caused pandemonium as traders, passers-by scampered for safety.
A source told National Network that the deceased is an indigence of Akwa/Ibom state.
The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police command, SP Nnamdi Omoni said he was not aware when contacted by our reporter.
In a related development a lone gunman last Sunday night shot dead one Uzoma, male, twenty five years of age from Imo state at Ojike street, Mile 1 Diobu, Port Harcourt.
An eyewitness told our reporter that the deceased was shot at the neck when he came to patronize a supermarket at about 10pm in the night.
The source disclosed that the lone gunman varnished after the shooting before the arrival of the police.
We learnt that it may not be unconnected with supremacy battle between suspected Deygbam and Iceland cult members.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police command SP Nnamdi Omoni confirmed the incident.
The corpse was evacuated by the Police and deposited in an undisclosed mortuary.
