Lover Killer Suspect Transferred To SCIID

Dickson Edet, a native of Akwa/Ibom State who was arrested by Elimgbu Divisional Police Division for allegedly being responsible for the death of his 23-year-old girlfriend Glory Mma Odamni, a native of Gbam community in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State after an argument over infidelity, has been transferred to the homicide division of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID), Port Harcourt for further investigation, National Network has learned.

Our reporter gathered that an autopsy will be conducted on the remains of the deceased to aid police in their investigation.

A community source alleged that the victim, Glory Odamni, was always assaulted by her boyfriend, adding that the suspect had been arrested before the latest incident and reprimanded by the Police.

The source disclosed that during the incident, the victim fell while running into a nearby compound to escape the assault.

The victim was said to have lost consciousness as attempts to resuscitate her failed.

We gathered that she was rushed to a hospital, where she was later confirmed dead.

Some irate youths were said to have deposited Glory’s lifeless body at a plaza where her boyfriend worked as a barber on Igbo-Etche Road.

The source revealed that the deceased relatives later removed the body and deposited it in a mortuary.

Brother to the deceased, Sunny Odamni, said: “I discovered that he used something to hit her on the head. She got internal bleeding. They rushed her to a hospital that evening on May 18. When they got there, the doctors tried to revive her, but to no avail. I need justice”.

Our correspondent learnt that Glory had confronted the suspect with allegations of infidelity, which led to the argument.

After the incident, the suspect was handed over to the Elimgbu Police Station.

The Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nnamdi Omoni, was yet to speak on the latest development.
