Police Arrest Suspected Cultists Terrorizing Ogoni Community

…As Suspected OSPAC Members Allegedly Shoot 7 Persons In Ikwerre

Two suspected cultists terrorizing Kaani Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State were intercepted and arrested by men of Bori Divisional Police headquarters led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), SP BakoAngbashim our reporter learned.

We learned that the hoodlums who had invaded the community last Friday and reportedly killed four natives were on a mission to launch another attack when they were arrested.

We learned that the hoodlums on sighting the Police Officers open fire and the gallant officers responded and overpowered them in the process.

Community sources disclosed that some of the hoodlums fled with gunshots injury while the two were arrested .

Meanwhile, there was jubilation as natives commended the Police for the achievement. The natives urged the Police to sustain the momentum till all the criminal elements are brought to book.

An aide to the Executive Chairman of Khana LGA who pleaded anonymity confirmed the incident to our reporter.

The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Police command SP Nnamdi Omoni told our reporter via a text message that he was yet to get the report.

As at press time we learned the suspects have been transferred to Anti-cultism unit of Rivers State Police command for further investigation.

Meanwhile, persons suspected to be members of OSPAC, local vigilante in Aluu in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State allegedly shot seven persons last Sunday when they stormed Adanta community in Isiokpo, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, National Network learned.

The Youth Chairman of Adanta community, in Ikwerre Local Government area Chizi Edwin in a telephone interview with our reporter said the OSPAC personnel shot seven persons and one person was whisked away to anti cultism unit of the Rivers State Police command at Rupokwu Port Harcourt.

Mr Edwin expressed displeasure at the indiscriminate shooting of natives of the area by men suspected to be OSPAC members.

The Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Command SP Nnamdi Omoni when, contacted said he will get back to us but was yet to do so as at press time

Meanwhile, we gathered the injured persons were receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
