CDC Chairman Donates Patrol Van To Elikpokwuodu OSPAC
Barely one week after he inaugurated Elikpokwuodu OSPAC security, the Community Development Committee Chairman of Elikpokwuodu Community, Hon. Prince Sunny Opara has donated a patrol van to the security outfit for efficient service delivery.
The patrol van, a Sienna Jeep was handed over to Chief Achinike Nmecha, leader of Elikpokwuodu OSPAC Security on Saturday, June 5, at Elikpokwuodu playground.
Speaking to newsmen after the handover ceremony, the CDC Chairman of Elikpokwuodu Community, Hon. Sunny Opara said the patrol van would enable OSPAC to move round the nooks and crannies of Elikpokwuodu Rukpokwu generally in search of criminal elements particularly kidnappers and rapists.
According to him, the security outfit would work in synergy with the police to curb crimes in the community.
The CDC Chairman assured that with the inauguration of OSPAC Elikpokwuodu Community would soon be rid of cultists, kidnappers, rapists, armed robbers and other criminal elements.
Hon. Opara said the community set up the vigilante in a bid to support Governor Wike’s fight against criminality in the state.
Chief Achinike Nmecha, leader of Elikpokwuodu OSPAC said members of the security outfit would do their best to make sure that Elikpokwuodu is secure, stressing that the community would soon be ridden of criminals.
He told journalists that their work is to complement that of the security agencies in crime fighting, stressing that suspected criminals arrested would be handed over to the police for further actions.
He called for cooperation of residents to enable them deliver on their mandate.
The DPO of Rumuokoro Police Station Ugochukwu Kingsley warned OSPAC members not to take law into their hands, stressing that bad behavior from any of them will attract disciplinary action. He stressed that they should hand-over any suspected criminal they arrest to the police for prosecution.
Among members of the security outfit are Chief Owhonda Mgbakiri – Head Chief of Owhu Community Elikpokwuodu and Elikpokwuodu youth president, Godspower Worlu.
