Pastor In Trouble For Allegedly Defiling 19-Month-Old Baby
One Mr Kalu Ijeoma who is an assistant Pastor in a Pentecostal Church in Onitsha has reportedly defiled a 19 month old daughter of his wife’s sister at Asaba, in Delta State.
The mother of the toddler, Cindy Emmanuel in a telephone interview with Journalists said she came back from work on Monday night and observed that her child was seriously crying and in severe pains.
She said on physical examination she observed that her daughter’s private part is swollen and blood was dripping from the private part.
Ms. Cindy Emmanuel disclosed that her daughter told her is the sister’s husband that allegedly touched her on her private.
Ms. Cindy explained that she informed her elder sister who checked the little girl and also observed her private part has been tampered with.
Ms. Cindy explained that when she confronted her sister’s husband on the issue he ordered she and her child to pack out of his house that night and they went out and took refuge in a neighbour’s house in the compound.
The aggrieved mother dismissed statement credited to the Pastor that he is suspecting a neigbour’s male child of seventeen years of been responsible for the alleged defilement of the little child.
Ms. Cindy revealed that she and the neighbour’s child went to work the same time and came back together.
Ms. Cindy also alleged that the sister’s husband before now, made attempt to defile her child but she forgave him because he is married to the sister .
Meanwhile, the Pastor Ijeoma Kalu from Abia State in a telephone interview with National Network denied the allegation.
Mr Kalu told our reporter that he is innocent of the allegation levelled against him by his wife’s sister.
A Human Rights Advocacy Group Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign has called for a thorough investigation into the incident.
A statement issued by Comrade Gladys Oyenmwen, head of children and teens, called the Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Muhammed Ali to order an unbiased and timely investigation into the incident with a view to ensuring justice to all the parties involved.
