It was celebration galore in Wii Nortem-Bori Community, Bua Zaakpon Clan of Khana Local Government Area at the weekend following the appointment of a Duchess for the Ogoni kingdom.
The traditional ruler of Nortem-Bori Communy, King Lenu Tsaro-Igbara JP, announced the appointment of her daughter, Princess Jennifer Tsaro Igbara as the Duchess of Wii Nortem-Bori, to a cheerful audience at his palace during one of his regular interaction with the people.
A renowned youth-friendly and peace ambassador, the traditional monarch described the appointment of the Duchess as historical and memorable not only in the annals of Nortem-Bori kingdom but in Ogoni as a whole.
“Ii pleases me in my capacity as the Gbene Teekoo IX, Paramount Ruler of Nortem-Bori to announce to the indigenous people of Nortem-Bori in Bua Zaakpon Clan of Khana Local Government Area, Ogoni, Rivers State, Nigeria that I have chosen my daughter, Princess Jennifer Tsaro Igbara as the Duchess of Wii Nortem”, declared King Tsaro-Igbara in a statement he shared on his Instagram, Twitter and Facebook handles.
On the geographical location of Wii Nortem, King Tsaro-Igbara said it includes the areas covering Khana LGA Council headquarters, the defunct ADP and rubber plantation of Late JP Igbara, Ministry of Agriculture, the Bori General Hospital, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Management campus of Kenpoly, the defunct Pan African Bank, Looyoo axis and its environs.
He made it clear that, as the head of Gbene-Tekoo dynasty as well as the founder and principal landlord of Nortem-Bori, he was empowered to take necessary steps including appointments geared towards enhancing societal happiness, peace and harmony.
The Paramount ruler called for support and co-operation for the Duchess to enable her succeed in her duties, even as he felicitated with her on the well-deserved appointment, adding that further announcements would be made on other Dukedom of Nortem in due course.
