Crisis Rocks Rivers Tricycles Union

…As National Body Allegedly Recognizes Chief Frank Nnadi-led Faction

There are strong indications that all is not well with the Executive Council of the Keke/Tricycle Union in Rivers State, following alleged suspension of their Chairman, Comrade Benjamin Ibigwe.

Information available to National Network has it that the Executive Council of the Keke/Tricycle Union suspended Comrade Ibigwe because of what they described as unacceptable style of leadership, which according to them, is contrary to the laid down rules and regulations governing the Union.

The erstwhile Chairman, who was accused of highhandedness, misappropriation of funds amongst others was further accused of frolicking with ‘a self acclaimed Life Chairman’ of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) who is highly placed in a top government agency in the State.

A reliable source claimed that his ulterior motive was to hoodwink the union and pledge allegiance to the ‘life Chairman to destabilize the union and become perpetual slaves to him’.

They further observed that his concocted plans with the alleged Life Chairman was to hijack the processes of the union and create unnecessary fracas and instability towards achieving their selfish desires

It was in the light of this unhealthy situation, that the Executive Council lodged their complain to the State Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers, Rivers State branch, Pst. O.D. Kalango of their plight.

Kalango who also is the Vice President of the union in the South-South, having deliberated on the matter with all sincerity, approved and inaugurated the Chief Frank Nnadi-led faction as the authentic Executive Council of the union in Rivers State.

“In my capacity as the National Vice President in charge of the South South States, I hereby grant approval to the authentic State Council of Keke in Rivers State, led by Chief Frank Nnadi and his new Excos”, he said as he went on to inaugurate the new state executives.
