Supremacy Battle Between OSPAC Factions Claims Two Lives In EMOLGA

Supremacy battle between factions of disbanded OSPAC, a local vigilante in Okporowo, Ogbakiri in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State has claimed two lives, National Network can report.

The death occurred last Monday. We gathered that members of another faction of OSPAC who were not comfortable with the leadership of ‘Sani’, Commander of OSPAC in the community, reportedly engaged him and his loyalists in a gun duel in order to overthrow him.

Our source disclosed that the gun duel which lasted for an hour led to the death of the OSPAC Commander and his younger brother.

The source revealed that there was pandemonium in the community as residents scampered for safety during the gun duel between factions of the OSPAC.

The source further disclosed that personnel of Nigeria Military were in the community alongside the police to halt further spread of violence.

The spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the incident in a text message to our reporter.

 

SP Omoni, however, did not give further details. Meanwhile, the executive Chairman of the council, Dr. Chidi Lloyd, stated that the new security outfit in the local government christened Emohua Local Government Vigilante Service (EMOLVIS) may be inaugurated next week.

Dr. Lloyd made the disclosure in a live radio programme last Monday which was monitored by our reporter in Port Harcourt .

Dr. Lylod who reiterated the ban on OSPAC on assumption of office explained that the new security outfit will be regulated and funded by the council with a view to eliminating human rights abuses in the operation of members of the group.
