God Calls Late Dafini Home – Banigo

The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Her Excellency, Dame Dr (Mrs) Ipallibo Banigo has stated that death cannot take a woman of God except God permits it to happen.

Banigo stated this during the service of Songs in honour of Late Pastor Dafini Gogo-Abbey today, Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Omega Power Ministry, Church, G.R.A, Port Harcourt.

She emphasised that death cannot take a woman of God such as Dafini Gogo-Abbey, except God permits, noting that she is not dead, but sleeping in God, awaiting resurrection day to be counted among the saints of God.

She described the death of Gogo-Abbey as a call home to meet with God, stressing that her death is a total surrender to God Almighty, who alone has the power to call her home to be with him.

The executive governor described her as ” the woman with a golden voice” saying that she was the only person that calls her in a unique way that she so much admired.

Also speaking, the General Overseer of OPM, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, who took his bible reading from Ecclesiastes 3 with the titled: “To Everything There Is A Time.

The apostle asked the congregation what they have used their lives to do? Emphasising that Late Gogo-Abbey, the woman been celebrated in death today, left good legacies as she devoted her time for God, adding that whenever she was called to say something, she must always mentioned God, remarking that whenever she has not mentioned God, it means something was wrong.

He charged all to pinch themselves to asked God how they have used their time, either for God or against God, stressing that if they have used their time negatively should repent and seek God’s face for forgiveness of their sins and never to go back to evil again as there was just a little time remaining for all to be on earth.

“Speak to yourselves as the clock is ticking, it does go backwards. It doesn’t matter the way you have used your time, it’s never too late, but come to God to say I’m sorry for mismanaging the time you gave to me.”

On his part the President, Divine Distributors, OPM,  Chief Dr Mart Offe, described Late Dafini Gogo-Abbey as one that serve God in kind, cash and spiritual, noting that she was a strong committed, dedicated and passionate to the works of God.

Offey charged the family to keep hope alive by following her footsteps to the end, stressing that despite her age she was full of strength and vitality.

Also speaking, Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Rivers State Chapter, Comrade Susan Serekara-Nwikhana, described Late Pastor Dafini Gogo-Abbey as a saint, who has gone home to be with the Lord.

Comrade Nwikhana added that Late Dafini was an icon of peace as such detest hatred and malice and would do all it takes to make peace irrespective of your status, she kept on preaching peace and the gospel of God to all.

She noted that her death has created a big vacuum in the RATTAWU, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and NAWOJ, Rivers State, stressing that she introduced fitness exercise to NAWOJ Rivers State family, which today, many members kept remembering her of her good legacies.

She added that Late Gogo has touched many lives positively, especially girls, a legacy which NAWOJ cherished and promise it would.live on in their lives.
