The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has commenced investigations into the alleged dealing on illicit drug on campus of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumulomeni, Port Harcourt by a student of the institution, Newton Ezegbola Nsiegbe.
The investigation aimed at ascertaining the source of the illicit drug suspected to be ‘Indian hemp’ followed the handing over of the suspect to NDLEA by the university management.
The University had in a statement last Sunday by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele announced the suspension of Newton Ezegbola Nsiegbe of the department of Political Science.
Professor Ozo-Mekuri explained that the student was apprehended by the University Security Personnel in the hostel with over 1.75 grams of substance suspected to be ‘indian hemp’ which the student allegedly smokes and sells to his colleagues on campus.
