Argument Over N50 Change Claims Life Of Passenger As Bus Driver Is Arrested, Detained
The driver of a bus who was arrested last week Friday for causing the death of a bus passenger, late Tedus Ohawen over fifty naira ‘change’ has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID),Port Harcourt for further investigation, sources disclosed to our reporter.
We gathered that the suspect whose identity is yet to be disclosed by the Police was transferred to the homicide division of (SCIID) where is expected that autopsy would be carried on the late Mr Ohawen.
Mr.Ohawen died at Wobo street/Ikwerre road in Mile 3 axis of Port Harcourt following an argument with a bus driver and conductor over fifty naira ‘change’.
An eyewiness Godstime Ihunwo told our reporter that the passenger, Mr Ohawen was arguing with the, conductor when he was pushed out of the bus and the driver used the vehicle to hit him and ran away but the driver and the bus were later apprehended at Ikwerre road, mile 1 diobu by Police officers attached to Mile 3 Police station and vigilantes.
A female eyewitness disclosed that the argument was over fifty naira.
Our correspondent who visited the scene saw the lifeless body of the deceased in pool of his own blood and also the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Divisional Crime Officer (DCO), and other senior officers from Nkpolu Divisional Police headquarters at the scene directing traffic and ensuring there was no further breakdown of law and order.
