…Says Gov Remains Nigeria’s Face Of Democracy
Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, has dedicated the Outstanding Commissioner of the Year Award conferred on him by the Garden City Advancement (GACA) Award 2021, to Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
Speaking shortly after receiving the Award which is it’s 7th edition, at the prestigious AztechArcum Event Center, Port Harcourt on Sunday, Nsirim said he was dedicating the award to the Almighty God and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike whom he described as the new face of democracy in Nigeria.
He said the award was made possible by the Governor who had achieved so much developmental strides through his visionary leadership.
He thanked Governor Wike for the opportunity given to him to serve the state.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen, Nsirim said the Award is dedicated to God for his grace and Governor Wike who provided him with the platform to win the award.
Nsirim also described the Award as a vote of confidence on the media Community in Rivers State.
He said Governor Wike is determined to make Rivers State an investors destination of choice in Nigeria, adding that the ministry would continue to evolve programmes to bring about a new narrative in Rivers State.
Earlier, the convener of the Award, Mr. Robinson Koyoyo said the award is given to men and women who have made positive contributions to the advancement of Rivers State.
Kuyoyo who revealed that the 2021 edition had been dubbed ‘heroic awards’ because of the Covid 19 pandemic, disclosed that over 2000 nominations were received out of which 20 winners in the various categories emerged.
Some other personalities honoured at the event include Founder of OPM church, Apostle Chinyere Gift Chibuzor (Man of the Year), Chief Dump Lulu-Briggs () and, Prince Kelvin Umejuru (Philanthropy and Community Development Building),
Also confirmed with awards ‘were Alero Aleruchi (Social Media Influencer of the Year, female category) and Vitamin C of Silverbird’s Rhythm 93.7fm (On air personality of the year), among others.
Highlight of the occasion was music and comedy renditions by some of Port Harcourt’s finest stars.
