Suspected Ritualists In Police Net
The police have arrested 2 suspects in connection with the murder of a 10-year-old boy in Azumini community, Isiokpo, in the Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The headless body of the boy who was identified as Destiny Peter was found in a bush within the community on Friday, November 12, gathered that his intestine had been removed by the suspected ritualists.
A resident who spoke to newsmen said such a thing has never happened in the community before.
“This may be a ritual killing, but nobody knows for sure. Let the government and the police come and help us get to the bottom of the killing of this poor innocent boy.
We heard that the boy was living with his aunt, but she was not around when somebody came to take him out.
When she came back, she did not see the boy and she started shouting and crying,” he added.
Victory Johnson, the victim’s aunt, said Destiny has lived with her for over seven years, she further said Destiny was last seen around 4.30 pm on Thursday after a neighbor invited him to his house.
His body was later found in a bush after a girl stated that she saw him with an unidentified man moving towards a bush.
Nnamdi Omoni, the spokesperson of the State Police Command, confirmed the incident, saying two suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder.
He said;
“Yes, I can confirm it. The matter, for now, has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department and justice will be served,”
