Calvary College Of Theology, PH Matriculates 35, Convocates 39

The Calvary College of Theology, Port Harcourt over the weekend matriculated a total of 35 new students.

An affiliate of the University of Calabar, and Evangelical Bible College and Seminary, Greenacres, Florida, USA also convocated 39 graduands at the combined matriculation and convocation ceremonies.

In his address, the president of the school, Rev. Dr. Jonas Maduabuchi Ugbor informed the gathering that the college has produced national and international figures over the years who are today responsible preachers, teachers, general overseers, pastors, missionaries and church workers.

According to him, the college offers Doctoral degrees, Bachelor’s degrees, diplomas and certificate courses, and parades well-qualified, dedicated and God-fearing lecturers with excellent learning environment. Dr Maduabuchi Ugbor charged both the matriculant and graduands to show good examples which they have been taught.

He said the college has done her best to show the way of living and in conduct as the only way to be happy in Jesus and in the ministry.

Rev. (Dr) Ugbor advised the matriculants to brace up and get set to work as the college is not for lazy students.

He listed some of the needs of the school to include grants for scholarship; a bus for evangelism; students’ secretariat as well as proper drainage system in the school.

In his exhaustation at the event, the General Superintendent and Chairman C.C.T Governing Council, Rev. (Dr) Aaron Ajere charged the graduands to go out to the world and preach the word raw and undiluted, no matter whose ox is gored.

“Don’t be intimidated or distracted in course of preaching the gospel,” he declared.

He advised the congregation not to blame anybody but themselves should they miss heaven, stressing that heaven and hell fire are real.

One of the graduands who is the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) State Assistant Secretary, Pastor Amb. John Odinichi who graduated with masters degree in Religious Education in an interview with newsmen said he is a fulfilled man with the acquisition of the certificate.

He disclosed that with the training he has acquired, he is now spiritually loaded to face any challenge whatsoever in the heavenly race.

Highlights of the events was the giving out of the certificates and awards to the graduands as well as the donation of a N500,000 scholarship grant to the college by the guest of honour Chief Barr. Emmanuel Nuel Mark to be instituted for deserving students.
