Amb. West Kicks Against ‘Get Rich Quick Mentality’ Among Youths

Amb. Okorinama West has frowned on the quest to get rich quick mentality among some youths, which he says has led to criminality and other social vices.

He made this known when speaking to newsmen in his office in Port Harcourt. According to Amb. Okorinama, such quest does not bring happiness but untimely death and sorrow.

He advised the youths of Kalabari to be contended with what they have in order to be happy, noting that the love of material things seems to be the major problem of this generation.

He also urged the youths to embrace the rule of law, justice, fairness and equity to ensure peace in the area and promised to assist them in anyway he could.

Hon. West who is popularly called Shaggy is one man who has been extending hands of charity to the less privileged and the elderly in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

This great philanthropist has over the years, demonstrated great love, care and compassion for the poor, not only in his community but in other parts of the local government area.

According to him, his outfit, “Okorinama Foundation” has raised the hope of hundreds of persons within and outside Buguma City, given scholarship to indigent students, built foot bridge at Nnifeipiri compound, provided borehole water at Ido and Tema communities and Ibama compound, free medical care worth of N17m as well as other essential amenities for some communities, etc.

His company has also given employment to youths who were hitherto jobless and perhaps, would have by now become easy tools for criminals.

He also called on other well meaning Nigerians to cultivate the habit of giving back to the society, just to make it a better place for everyone.
