The joy and happiness of the people of ancient Okochiri and the entire Okrika people knew no bounds last week, as they rolled out their drums to celebrate the 4th coronation anniversary and the dedication of the Palace of HRM, King Ateke Michael Tom.
The anniversary celebration was indeed a gathering of dignitaries in the society, one of the personalities was Engr. Joseph Wakana the chairman of WAK’S Oil and Gas Limited who believes that the reign of King Ateke Tom is worth celebrating because it has ushered and opened vistas of opportunities to the people of Okochiri.
His words: “King Ateke Tom has done so much positive things for the youths and the elders, his humility and commitment to the ideals of his kingdom cannot be quantified in any way.
He is a peace loving person but if anyone refuses to toe the path of peace, he too will not agree.
For that singular act people see him as a violent person because of his dogged determination for peace”.
Engr. Wakana also prayed God to give the king more strength, courage, knowledge and understanding to rule his people.
Also speaking was Hon Johnbull Damiete, the councilor representing the people of Ward 6 in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area who also said that King Ateke Tom is recognized when it comes to governmental aspect of life.
He urged his followers to emulate the peaceful developmental strides he has brought to Okochiri Kingdom and Okrika at large.
