National Network Publisher, Pst. Jerry Needam, Receives DMOMA Journalist Of The Year Award

The Publisher of Port-Harcourt tabloid National Network, Pst. Jerry Needam, has received Journalist of the Year Award (Male) which was conferred on him by DMOMA Awards Organizers for 2021.

The female winner was Ms Prisca Nwakwo.

The event which held at Hilltop Royal Centre, GRA, Port-Harcourt attracted award recipients as well as supporters of the programme held on Saturday, December 4.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Publisher, the Editor of the paper, Mr Ken Asinobi, in remarks shortly after  commended the organizers for the award on behalf of the Publisher, saying that he sent his regards while extending regrets for his absence.

The Publisher had pledged to support the organizers and urged them to keep the tempo.

The ambience in the hall of the event was remarkable attended by dignitaries, award recipients and supporters of the event.

Some of the award recipients were represented at the occasion and received their awards by proxy.

Other recipients at the event include the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, who received the Commissioner/Liaison Officer/Federal Commissioner of the Year award as well as Mayor of Port-Harcourt City Local Government, Sir Allwell Ihunda, who received  recognition award for engaging over 250 youths in Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Schemes in his first 100 days in office.

Other awardees were the lawmaker representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency at National Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Dekor, who received by proxy the Federal Lawmaker of the Year award and the lawmaker representing Bonny Constituency at the Rivers State House of Assembly, Amasenibo (Hon) Engr Abinye Blessing Pepple, who received the State Assembly Lawmaker of the Year award.

Over 40 personalities were listed for the awards including the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike and Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as well as the Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro Felix Obuah. The Sole Administrator of RIWAMA, Bro Obuah, received his Humanitarian and Philanthropist of the Year award by proxy. 

Earlier in welcome address, the head of DMOMA Awards, Chidiebele Okoye, said that the awardees were being voted by members of the public and welcomed guests to the occasion.
