Omoku Peoples Forum Holds 2nd Annual Conference

The second Annual Conference of the Omoku Peoples Forum (OPF) has been slated to hold on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Omoku Civic Center by 10am.

A statement by OPF’s Director, Media/Public Relations, Dr. Emmanuel Nwabrije said the conference which is being organized in conjunction with Omoku Town Club, will bring together the crème la crème of Omoku personalities in various works of life.

Dr. Nwabrije disclosed that the conference which has the theme: Omoku Rebirth – Progress and Development, will be chaired by the Executive Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, Chief (Hon.) Vincent N. Job JP, while the Royal Father of the Day is His Eminence, Barr. Nwachuku Nnam Obuoha-Obi III, Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland.

He also named the Special Guest of Honour as the Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah, Osoemiri of Ogbaland and Ikemba Idemili.

Dr. Nwabrije, who also doubles as the Planning Committee Chairman for the historic event told journalists that the success of the 2019 maiden edition of the annual conference has led to yet another conference this year,revealing that the keynote speakers billed for the event are: legendary media personality, Sir Adiela Onyedibia and seasoned Engr. George Okoroma.

“This conference will help us harness our strengths in tourism and improve infrastructure, which is the bedrock of development.

“With the wealth of experience of both speakers, they will shed more light on making Ogbaland a tourist destination and viable for infrastructural development”, he said, adding that the right time has come for the great people of Ogbaland to come together and move Ogbaland and Rivers State at large, forward.

Dr. Nwabrije, beckoned on all prominent sons and daughters of Ogbaland to come together and work assiduously towards making this dream of Ogbaland becoming an economically viable city due to its abundant natural resources, a reality.

He further added that diversifying the Ogba economy is something that means well for the present and the not distant future.

According to the media expert, with an upward investment in infrastructure, Ogbaland may well be on its way to economic freedom and further diversification into the world of technology.

A former governorship candidate of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) in the 2019 General Election in Rivers State, Dr. Nwabrije noted that all Covid-19 protocols would be strictly observed during the conference, adding that registration would begin by 8am at the venue, while urging all peace-loving members of the public to attend the conference.
