Body Of Woman Killed By ‘Deaf And Dumb’ Recovered In Omoku
The remains of a woman who was allegedly killed by a physically challenged man (‘deaf and dumb’) at plantation axis in Omoku town in Ogba/ Egbema/Ndoni local Government Area has been recovered and deposited in the mortuary, our correspondent has learnt.
Kingsley Ogumike, the Commander General of OSPAC, a local vigilante in the area in a telephone conversation with our reporter confirmed the incident.
Mr Ogumike told our correspondent that the suspect whom he did not disclose its identity was arrested last week Saturday following discreet investigation.
He disclosed that the Police and OSPAC were able to recover the remains of the woman at plantation axis.
The Commander General of OSPAC told our correspondent that investigation will determine if this is the first time the suspect is carrying out such act and if there are other accomplice.
Sources had informed our correspondent that the physically challenged man allegedly killed the woman and beheaded her for ritual purpose while the remains was buried in a shallow grave at plantation axis of the town.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command and a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Grace Iringe Koko was yet to respond to text messages sent to her mobile phone by our correspondent as at press time.
