The Executive Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr. Chidi Julius Lloyd, marked his 50th birthday anniversary on Sunday, with a Thanksgiving Service and reception at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Akpabu.
During the service which was graced by family members, friends, associates and captains of industry, Bishop of Port Harcourt Catholic Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Camillus Etokudoh urged Christians to always imbibe the spirit and culture of thanksgiving as well as appreciate God for His grace and mercies.
Etukudoh who was represented by the Auxiliary Bishop of Port Harcourt Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Patrick Eluke told Dr. Lloyd to continue to serve God and humanity as well as dedicate his time, wealth and energy towards the growth of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Akpabu.
Also Speaking, Chairman of the occasion, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh said he was not surprised about the rising political profile of the EMOLGA Council boss since he was elected as a member of Rivers State House of Assembly (RSHA) in 2003.
Emeh, who described Dr. Lloyd as an intelligent young man, added that the people of Emohua LGA are proud of his performance and achievement in office within a year.
In the same vein, one of Dr. Lloyd’s political associates, Chief Anthony Okehia said the birthday celebration which was tagged “Golden on the Fifth Floor”, as well deserved because of his accomplishments and contributions to society.
Chief Okehia while congratulating him on his intellectual achievement in life, pointed out that his relationship with Dr. Lloyd has been a long lasting one and that it would be sustained.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Lloyd, a former member and Leader of the RSHA, said he never knew he would become the Chairman of Emohua LGA, considering where he is coming from.
“When I left the PDP for the APC, I knew I only went there for sabbatical. Having just been 6 months in the PDP from APC, I became the Executive Chairman of Emohua LGA. The most important thing is that I am back to PDP and I am ready to serve my people”, Lloyd assured.
The council boss commended Chief Sergent Awuse, Chief Emma Wonodi and other politic leaders in the LGA for the mandate given to him, assuring that he would not disappoint them but that he would do his best.
On his part the paramount ruler of Akpabu Town in Emohua LGA, HRH, Chief Godwin Chukwu Emeka Ordu JP, said the invaluable contributions of Dr. Lloyd to Akpabu Town is second to none while describing him as the ‘moon’ of Akpabu.
He urged Dr. Lloyd to raise leaders in Akpabu since he (Dr. Lloyd) was raised from outside Akpabu by other Rivers State leaders.
