Oba Of Ogbaland Visits Elderly Persons, Widows And Less Privileged
Commendations, applause and praises have continued to pour in for the Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, His Eminence, Oba Nwachuku Obuoha Nnam-Obi III over his new year surprise visits to homes of some elderly, sick, widows, the needy and less privileged persons in various towns and villages in Ogba kingdom in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) of Rivers State.
The Ogba monarch had started year 2022 in a good note by visiting and extending hands of benevolence to some aged men, women, widows and the less privileged ones in all towns and villages in his domain (Ogba Kingdom) and during the visits, the Eze Ogba presented food stuffs, cash, clothes and also danced and prayed with them.
According to a press statement issued by the Palace Media Officer, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP, (Mmboh Krikri) the Oba Eze-Ogba was quoted to have during the visits thanked Almighty God for making it possible for them to see the new year, a year full of God’s favour and all-round blessings.
He used the visits to commend the people of Ogba Ethnic Nationality both at home and in diaspora for a peaceful celebrations of 2021 Nchaka Festival, Christmas festivities and the 2022 New Year Cross Over and thanked the Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, C.D.Cs’ Youths, elites, police, OSPAC and other para-military security agencies for a job well done and gave Almighty God the glory.
Meanwhile, Oba Nwachuku Obuoha Nnam-Obi III has approved the appointment of a team of wise men from various groups in Ogba kingdom to arranged for his meet the people tour of communities in ONELGA, government agencies etc.
Inaugurating the committee, the Eze Ogba charged them to be apolitical or create division while undertaking their assignments as visiting the communities in Ogba Kingdom for unity is one of his cardinal objective.
The Committee which has the Chairman of Ogba/Egbema.Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) Hon. Vincent Job, JP, as facilitator a former Commissioner with the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Shedrack Akolokwu, JP, as Chairman, Chief Azubuike Osiagor (Onueze), Alternate Chairman, Sir Ken Nwabochi, Adviser has a media consultant, Dr. Emmanuel Nwabrije as the Secretary.
Other members are, the Palace Media Officer, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP, (Mmboh Krikri) the Chief of Protocol (Cop) Onelga Council, Evangelist Vincent Onyema Wilson, the President Egi Youth Federation, Comrade Ugochukwu Orikeoha, Comrade Dennis Osere, Chief Justice Ugada (Imordi), Mr. Okechukwu Osia, Mr. Okanu M, Elder Michael Oburu, Mr. Azubuike Orlu, Mr. Ejike Omodo among others.
As at the time of this report, the Committee which was given mandate to co-op more members if necessary has started work.
