A man simply identified as Moses and resident of Ikwerre road, Mile 4 Diobu, Port Harcourt who allegedly attempted to rape a 14 year old girl last year November in the area has turned a complainant in the case.
We gathered that the suspect who was let go after alleged beating by some residence who came to the rescue of the 14 year old girl when she raised an alarm had petitioned the Police Authority in the state alleging that he was robbed 400,000 naira, necklace and an iphone by the brothers to the 14 year old girl .
Our source disclosed that the petition was minuted to Octopus Strike Force(C4i) for investigation and the tactical unit went for arrest of the victim’s brothers relaying on the allegation made by the suspect.
We learnt that the Commander of the tactical Police unit that met the absence of the brothers to the victim has ordered an encompassing investigation including the alleged sexual assault on the 14 year old girl by the said Moses.
Narrating her ordeal to our correspondent, the 14 year old girl alleged that the said Moses had earlier promised to give her five thousand naira if she agrees to have sex with him but due to her refusal, the man decided to drag her into a dark corner that fateful night while fondling her breast and buttock.
She alleged that for the timely intervention of passers-by she would have been defiled.
A senior Police Officer who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent that the case of alleged assault lodged by the man and that of sexual assault on the 14 year old girl will be investigated and anyone found culpable at the end of the investigation will be arraign in court.
